How Does Our Weight Loss Treatment Work? A Simple Step-by-Step Guide
Book Your Appointment:
Labs are required to start weight loss medications: Before your consultation, make sure to have your recent lab work completed. If you don’t already have a copy, you can easily obtain your results by creating an account on either www.labcorp.com or www.questdiagnostics.com. Alternatively, check if your primary care physician (PCP) / Doctor has a patient portal where you can access your lab results. Once you’ve obtained your results, please send them as a PDF file via email to care@virtualnpclinic.com, not as phone screenshots, as screenshots can miss important details. A PDF ensures that all necessary information is clear and complete for review.
Click on the "Book Appointment" link.
Add the specific medication and the appropriate month to your cart.
If this is your first time starting the medication, select the option labeled "(Month 1)," which corresponds to the lowest dose for that medication.
Complete the payment for your appointment. If you have any questions before making the payment, feel free to call us at 214-216-6320.
After payment, you will receive an email with your order receipt, which will include a link labeled "Schedule." Open the email and click on that link to choose your preferred appointment time. You’ll then be directed to fill out the new patient intake form and consents.
Fill Out Intake and Consent Forms:
Complete the new patient intake form and consent forms before our phone appointment. This information helps us tailor personalized recommendations specifically for you.
Phone Consultation:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will call you at your scheduled appointment time to discuss your weight loss plan and answer any questions you may have.
Medication Prescription:
The provider will send the prescription for your medication to either a compound pharmacy or your local pharmacy, depending on your preference.
Receiving Your Medication (Compound Pharmacy):
Medications from a compound pharmacy typically take about a week or less to arrive. Check with us for the latest delivery estimates. Be sure to check your email daily for the tracking number sent directly by the pharmacy. We currently partner with Axtell’s Rite-Value Pharmacy to dispense compounded medications. They are located at:
304 1/2 Charlie Dr, Whitesboro, TX 76273
You may also contact them at (903) 564-3216For informational details about compounded GLP-1 medications, which are no longer offered by The Virtual NP, click here.
Local Pharmacy Prescription Pickup:
For Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved medications filled at a local pharmacy (Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Costco), set up text alerts to be notified when your prescription is ready for pickup.
Ongoing Support:
Continue receiving support from your board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP) through messaging, additional phone appointments, and a monthly progress report by email.
Insurance Coverage Inquiry:
If you’re considering using insurance, please contact the number on the back of your insurance card and ask specifically if medications like Wegovy or Zepbound are covered under your plan. This information will help us prescribe the weight loss medication that is covered by your insurance, ensuring a smoother process for you. Once you have this information, let us know so we can proceed.
